Christen Christens's Frames Shipyard in Sandefjord, Norway built the Viking in 1892-1893 after the ancient Viking ship Gokstad . In 1893 the Viking sailed from Norway to Chicago, via the Erie Canal and the Great Lakes to the World's Columbian Exposition and now displayed at Good Templar Park..

This 60 acre private park is available for rental to corporations or private parties. The property has 3 soccer/athletic fields. The park hosts 2 summer time festivals: Swedish Day Midsommar Festival and Anonapalooza. The picnic grounds include: small pavilion, stage, and kitchen facilities. The large pavilion is capable of hosting: concerts, and receptions. There are beautiful quiet places to explore nature. The park has the most beautiful setting for outdoor weddings in the Fox Valley!
